The Gods Died...
And their energy spread across the land. It has been two thousand years since a God was actually around and now the energies are collecting and forming new gods as well as some demons. These new beings are struggling for existence, struggling for power. The more power they have the longer they will last, the longer they will live. An immortal's greatest weakness is losing power and fading away. The way they gain that power is through blessings or wishes of the mortals. Gods gain power through granting the wishes, demons gain power by corrupting the wishes.
In Tokyo (and soon other major cities), a strange temple appeared one day. No one knows where it came from, but they feel the words on the wall are undeniably true. They read: "Our wish is to hear your wish. With but a coin in our well, we will hear you and we will come. Beware, not all wishes will be granted."
